2002 BMW 745Li with high voltage, zenon bulb headlights. Left side low-beam out. Swapped right side bulb and ignitor, but left side still not on. History: The dash display showed a problem brewing before the light went out, then after a week, the left side became noticeably dimmer than the right, eventually going out.

Question: Are there common problems with this system? If not, where would be the control units that govern the lights? My background is a former service manager with Saab Hawaii, so technical talk is fine. The goal is a proper diagnosis.

I appreciate any thoughts and suggestions.

Take care.

There are so many software issues/possibilities with the E-65/66 that the diagnostic is not possible without a short test with the proprietary software and "hands on" with a BMW master, and possible upgrades or module replacement and subsequent coding/programming.
