2001 BMW 740 V8 120000 miles

I am a new owner ..what is the best way to jump start this older car ...where is the best place to hook up cables

I strongly recommend charging the battery as opposed to "jump" starting it. The battery is in the trunk and the under hood connection at the left valve cover is easy to get to.
