my bmw stalled. everything else worked fine; has power to everything except to start the car. Checked fuses; one blew, replaced. Started the car again, fuse blew again. Unplugged alternator; car started fine. Plugged alternator back in; fuse blew. Unplugged alternator, car started. Tried a few times and car started up fine. Now the car does not start, even with the alternator unplugged; turned the key, just clicking noise; car did not start. Could it be a short somewhere? I am trying to rule out the alternator. It just doesn't make sense. Battery is strong as well.....

ok, the fuse was not blown; not sure why not. I checked all of them under the hood and in the luggage area; it's as if something else has popeed?? but I was able to start the car today. I needed to jump it. The alternator is unplugged; and when I plugged it back in before; there was a clicking sound as if something popped; but fuses were in tack. There is electricity running thru the wires to the alternator. Could it be a possible short somewhere; or how can disprove its a bad alternator? Thanks..
