Cant communicate

Computer problem V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 97500 miles

My scanner is unable to communicate with the vehicle either though the OBD or the under hood BMW connector ,I have a snap on Solus. This scanner work with other BMW's (1999 740il, 2001 540i, 1998 328). It powers up, but when prompted to scan for codes it tries for a few seconds and then says unable to communicate, make sure key is on.

the 20 pin cap is on and tight check the fuses in the engine compartment and in the trunk they were good.

It sounds like you still may have a fuse out here is a guide and a wiring diagram of the connector so we can do some testing and get the problem fixed.
