when i hit a bump/pothole in the road, i hear this loud thumping noise comming from the rear of my 1993 740il BMW. The accumulators have been replaced last year, any ideas what this could be.

Noises are difficult to diagnose from cyberspace, have a safety inspection performed at your earliest convenience by your friendly local BMW mechanic.

you are not being specific enough, but I think I know what you're talking about the noises right behind the driver's seat, it sounds like the transmission mounts are no good, the noise you are listening to is the drive line doughnut hitting across member when you hit a bump, have your mechanic check the transmission mounts.
