2001 BMW 540i V8 Automatic

when changing and replacing the spark plugs, I found engine oil in one spark plug tube. I found it on only one spark plug tube #4 (one out of 8 spark plug tubes) of the engine.
what is the probable cause, and how would you fix it?

This is a typical failure and the replacement of the valve cover gasket is in order to stop oil from getting into the spark plug well. You did not mention the mileage, there are several factors that you may wish to consider during the lifespan of the car that are somewhat expensive as far as maintenance items and valve cover gaskets is one of them, others are PCV plate and valley pan failures.
