My 540it is having trouble setting itself in motion, when I put it on drive or reverse, there is a short pause before the gear shoves in. If I idle it for the short while it starts fine but if ever I put on the gas too quickly, it bangs hard in gear. What's the problem? I know that changing the fluids could be a good idea ... but am I doing something useless?
