2001 BMW 530i weird problem

2001 BMW 530i 6 cyl Automatic 130000 miles

turned on my car and the radio was on and i cant turn it down or turn it off. Also my turn signals work but the dont blink from the inside of the car. A/C doesnt work and seat belt light doesnt come on. This has been happening on and off for about a year. its usually stays for a few days then goes away.

There is something on the "I" bus killing communication, I would start with disconnecting the battery for several minutes or overnight to reboot the system. Then a scan of the car with the proprietary BMW scan tool called GT-1 to see what faults are set, start here.
