Engine Cooling problem
2002 BMW 530 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 75k miles

the plastic radiator top cracked and leaked. I replaced radiator (myself). Now it is spewing coolant from an apparent safty valve where the upper hose connects to the engine. The temp guage is normal. Someone suggested the thermostat. Could this problem have craked the radiator? Can I replace the thermostat? The system is a little more complex than I'm used to. Thanks.DL.
