Engine Performance problem
2000 BMW 528 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 64k miles

My car has completely stopped starting, My car abs, asc, speedometer, mileage all stopped working the same day that was about a year and half ago, took it to a mechanic said it just needs a sensor, not anything big nothing to do with the performance of the car well I've been driving around with it broke since then. I purchased the car in 2005 and the car always had a problem when it started up it will hesitate or stall, always seemed like it was going to cut off but automatically kicked back in, well the other day for the 1st time I drove the car and was out of the car for about an hour started the car back up and it just clicked, but would never turn over. I did this a couple of times all lights, radio, window everything still worked as if it didn't need a hot shot someone still gave me hot shot and the car started right up, I drove home and sat the car the next day I got in the car and started up just to see it started right up the car sat the entire day the next day I started up to drive and it wouldn't start again same problem. What do I do it's sat for the last 4days not driveable I didn't try a hot shot again I'm not sure if its the battery, the starter or the alternator. I'm going to take it to be repaired, but I'm a female and don't want to be took.

It is possible the battery is old and needs replacement.
