Transmission problem
1997 BMW 528 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1997 bmw 528i and when its raining outside or if i go through alot of water nothing more than what would be on the road during a storm the transmission automically takes itself out of drive and goes to S 2 and will not shift back into drive. This will occur until it is dry out and then i have no problem with the car at all. Could there be a connection to the transmission that might in a sense short out because of the connection being bad and then the water hits it?
thankyou

The switch on the side of the tranny does not like water in it, I have replaced them for the issue you are having.

The part # is 24-30-1-423-331 and can be viewed at Realoem.com. It is on the left side of the transmission.
