I've replaced my 88 528e exhaust from under the car without much difficulty.
However, on my 92 525i, the connection between the rear and center muffler is not bolt on but is via a connecting sleeve. This is welded on my still original muffler.
It's a show stopper if it should be welded. Would 2 U clamps suffice in lieu of welding. Also, there appears to be a heat shield welded on. Is that another show stopper. If I take the parts in to have the job done, would they use the old heat shield or would there be a bolt on I should hunt down.
