Engine Cooling problem
1991 BMW 525i 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

m50b25 engine that i installed runs hot, takes about 5 minutes 220 degrees at thermostat housing, temp gauge pegged? i've replaced thermostat drilled holes in it, replaced waterpump, radiator and hoses. clutch fan seems to work? next thing aux electric waterpump does'nt seem to work all the time? does that run on a temp switch? Can i by pass it? I did a compression test and all cylinders are good 170 lbs. cooling system test held 11 lbs over night

A used engine could have some plugged steam holes in the head gasket. The aux pump is there only for circulation through the heater core and is commanded by the IHKA
