I am using a full synthetic oil and I'd like to know How often should I make the oil change ,every 5000 miles is fine?some people said that this full synthetic oil come to last up to 10000 miles ,is this correct?
I have noticed that at 3000 miles the service engine light comes on,why?
What type of oil should i use, 5w30 or 10w30 ? thanks for your prompt help and accuracy.

PS: MY CAR IS A 525I,GERMANY VERSION.

I usually go 5000 on full synthetic.The service reminders are made into the car on the premise that people wont ignore them if they are part of the read-out.Should say on the filler cap what weight oil to use, stay with the factory reccomendation
