1990 BMW 525i has two fuel pumps and turns over very rough

ernie it sounds like you got a problem child here.in 1990 the E34 car had an M20 motor that has a connector under the intake manifold that if corroded can cause the problems described.the E 34 never had a fuel pump underhood.let me know if this helps.
