2003 BMW 330xi - What steps are required to replace the alternator? Specifically if the idler pulley needs to be removed how is it done?

The deflection and tensioner pulleys both have dust caps that are easily popped off to expose the bolt head for the alternator mounting. The tensioner is slackened in a similar fashion, remove the cap and turn the Torx bolt to slack the tensioner and remove the belt.
