how much time and money (labor only) would it take to repair the ac in a 98 bmw 330i's air conditioner compressor

it needs the compressor replced

Replacement of the compressor and evacuating/refilling the system should take about 2-3 hours. BMW warranty time is 6 fru for the compressor and 12 fru to evacuate/recharge. There are 8 fru to the hour or each fru is 7.5 minutes. This time allows for most problems that can (and do) pop up during repairs. Is the drier bottle getting replaced? Is there a warranty for the parts and labor?

no there is no war. on the car it is a 98 i am thinking about buyung but the guy who owns it, said he would give me an allowance on the price to get it fixed.
