BMW E36 325i '92 198,000k 2.5L
My BMW is great to drive & I never thrash my machine, yet as soon as i started it the other day it immediatly started to idle eraticly & i almost have no brakes at all. The engine coughs & backfires, also engine compartment emmits a bad smell yet there is no visible signs upon inspection.
Ive heard VANOS unit, idle controll unit, ABS pump, ABS relay, EGR valve, oxygen sensor, defective coil pack or even a dirty idle controll.
What is the most likely problem i should expect this to be?
