My mechanic found oil in the radiator. He said it was caused by a cracked head gasket. Is this possible?

Hi rfb,
Thank you for the donation.
Yes, oil in radiator could be due to a cracked head or bad head gasket. This should be coupled with coolant losses and overheating issues.
The engine oil would most likely be contaminated with water as well.

Oil in the radiator could also be the heat exchanger for the automatic transmission is allowing oil into the cooling system.
