Is it necessary to raise the motor on an '89 BMW 325is in order to remove the oil pan? The chilton manual I have for it says that it may be necessary to do this on SOME models. I would like to know though, Is it necessary on MY car?

My book for your model says you have to- then again my book might be lying to me. anything is possible-
it also says to remove the starter and some steering components.

Good luck

I usually lower the subframe and support the motor from the top, it's easier this way.
