1988 BMW 325 BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH LOCATION & ADJUSTMENT

The brake lamp switch is located in the drivers underdash and will require removal of the underdash and depending on production perhaps the knee bolster(if equiped) Look above the brake pedal pad and you will see it. I usually have a new one in hand before I get in there, if it is all plastic then push the brake pedal and pull the red button all the way out then push the two black tangs in and out it comes. Adjustment is aautomatic, just pull the red button out and let your foot off the brake. BTW these switches seem to suffer a high failure rate as I have replaced lots of them, good luck.
