I recently had the clutch and Dual Mass Flywheel replaced. Now it's a little more difficult to get the car into 1st and 2nd gear (especially when first started) and the car vibrates accelerating aggressively in 2nd and 3rd around 1500-1800 rpms...
Feels a slipping sort of vibration from the transmission, but I also may be paranoid. I bought this car a month ago knowing it needed a clutch, but the dual mass flywheel was needed too and I'm just waiting for the next thing to go.

I was wondering what the possible causes of the vibration are and seeing if there were things I should rule out before I replace the transmission.

The center support bearing is often an issue in these types of vibrations, there is also the possibility of the drive shaft itself having a worn out or frozen universal joint in which case replacement would be called for. Check pricing for a new unit as rebuilding can be very similar in the pricing structure.

The car doesn't want to go into 2nd gear until it's warmed up now, so I'm guessing I can pretty much consider the transmission faulty...

That's understandable for sure. Thanks a lot for your insight. It's fun little car, so hopefully it will have a long run of reliability here soon. Someone smashed in my passenger window to steal my backpack last night while I was at work... The car is having a run of bad luck.

Call Autobahn dismantling @ (619)444-2290 and talk to John or Sean, they can drop ship your replacement parts and the price is right.
