When braking, I can hear what sounds like a screeching belt, which only starts at a certain speed, around the bottom of 3rd gear. The noise continues after lifting off the brake, and gets louder as I increase engine speed to speed up. After going through 1st and 2nd, the sound goes away. The car is well maintained and there have been no problems with the belts or the engine as a whole. The only unusual circumstances was that it was raining, and water may have come into contact with many of the components, and right before the problem arose, I experienced understeer which caused moderate shaking.
