THE CABLE THAT OPENS THE HOOD, BROKE RIGHT AT THE LEVER ONE WOULD PULL TO OPEN THE HOOD.
THERE IS A LITTLE BIT OF THE CABLE THERE. I USED A VICE GRIP AND TRIED TO OPEN IT BY PULLING ON THE CABLE. IT WOULD NOT OPEN THIS WAY. I PULLED VERY HARD, AND STILL NOTHING HAPPENED.

I NEED TO OPEN THE HOOD TO CHARGE THE BATTARY BEFORE I CAN START THE CAR. I ALSO NEED TO REPAIR THE CABLE.

PLEASE TELL ME HOW I CAN MAKE THIS WORK?

THANK YOU,

GREG WILLIAMS

The battery is in the trunk. The release catch is behind the left grill, I have had some luck getting the hood open by removing the left grill and operating the release from there. If there is a bit of cable that is still sticking out, put the vice-grips back on and pull like you're mad at it.

Take a long regular screwdriver with a medium tip. You can stick it through the grill about three inches to the inside of the driver's side high beam and find there a slot in the latch mechanism. Stick the screwdriver in the slot and turn it clockwise, and the hood will release. You'll probably need a flashlight to see the slot.

Good Luck.
