I either need a new wheel bearing or cv joint repair for my car. The is a whirring noise coming from the left rear wheel that sounds like wheel bearing going bad.

I was quoted just about $300 for each repair. Is this a fair price?

Wheel bearing would be my best guess, $300 for the bearing installed is a good price. The flat rate book says 3 hours and the bearing price is in this link: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=CB43&mospid=47498&btnr=33_0441&hg=33&fg=40
