Engine Performance problem
1999 BMW 323 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 127k miles

I recently purchased a 1999 bmw 323i. It drove fine for about 1 day. Then it overheated. It drives fine, but it still overheats quickly.

So far the thermostat, water pump, radiator, radiator cap all have been changed, but it is still running hot.

The mechanic did say that when he replaced the radiator there was a lot of stop leak gunk inside.

It has 127k miles on it and is an automatic. There is no water coming from the muffler and there is no water in the oil.


Any suggestions!

The stop leak may well have occluded the steam holes in the head gasket or the head is cracked, can you return to the seller and get satisfaction? If not, repost and we will see what can be accomplished in our forum.

OK. Have the cooling system put under an overnight pressure test and lets see if it is leaking into the combustion chambers.
