over the last couple of trips i have noticed a slight change going on in the steering. for the first 20-30mins of any trip is fine and the car drive like floating on air lol... but then suddenly i get this heavy feeling and the steering is noticeably stiffer?? almost like when you have a flat tyre feeling?? and this will continue until i have reached my destination, however when i start the car again to come back it seems back to normal again???

edit: i just re read and thought i should add, tyre pressure is correct and obvously no flat tyre.

now it happened again last night - twice (once on outward and once on homeward journey) and becasue i was looking out for it i noticed that it happened along after i did either a right or left "90degree" turn (or turning into a sharpish side turning).. now i may be imagining this, but it also feels a little less powerfull in the lower gears when this happens??? less smooth and rougher in the gear change??

it can be only a slight change, but you as drivers know that you can feel it instantly (although it has on one occasion been very stiff) oooh matron

can anyone give me some advice on what they think could be going on?? i hope its nothing major as i've only had the car a few weeks

thanks
A.

BMW uses what is called servotronic to control power steering assist and it may have a fault in the control circuit, have the vehicle scanned and see what the fault is.
