After approx 10 secs of starting the car the oil light comes on and stays on for about 10-12 secs. I've checked the oil and the car was serviced in Nov last year, what could be the problem??????

i would start by having the oil and filter changed again, sometimes the cartridge oil filter doesnt get changed and could be restricted.

If the oil and filter change doesn't change anything, the oil pressure sender could be the source of your problem.
