1995 BMW 318 Transmission shifts hard until it warms up

Transmission problem
1995 BMW 318 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 140K miles

I have a 318ti. The automatic transmission shifts hard until it has warmed up. I have had the transmission filter changed as well as the fluid. I was told it could be a weak transmission.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

HI there,

you will be better off having a transmission specialist who knows BMW's test drive the car to experience the problem first hand, they will then be best placed to advise you on what should be done to rectify this problem.

this is normal with bmw. i had a bmw tech told me that the car does this until it gets warm. i purchased an auto starter to solve this problem.
