Engine Mechanical problem

Hi, my car recently went down after having it for 8 months with no problems. Before it went the car would crank but it seemed like it had no fire to it, so it would take a while for it to actually start up. I would pump the gas pedal cause I thought it wasant getting any fuel. I even bought the Lucas brand fuel injection cleaner but that didnt work either. The car would start up and if i didnt get up on the gas then it would cut off. I had a amatuer mechanic look at it and he said i had an oil leak and the oil dripped on my knock sensor and crank position sensor which caused the car to have no fire to start up. Ive been looking for someone with a code scanner so that I can find out what the exact problem is before i spend money on parts and labor but no one in my area seems to have one for this vehicle. Now my car wont even start up. I need help.
