Blue smoke on start up

Recently the car smokes (blue) when we start it up and goes away after warming up. I have been told this could be the PCV valve.
Could any one confirm this and where is it situated?

Yes, it is possible your PCV valve could be plugged or stuck. I have attached a tutorial for you and a picture of its location. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Hi Danny, thanks for you information I have purchased A PCV valve today I will change it tomorrow.

But I had a look at the top end of our 2010 Kia Picanto yesterday and I unscrewed the valve from the back end of the rocker cover with the rubber hose connected that goes to the intake manifold it did not rattle but I could blow through it both ways.

Is that normal? Cheers,Steve.

Hello Steve,

No. A PCV valve is a check valve. Should only be able to have air blow through in only one direction. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.
