Dear All,

For a few days I have been observing blue smoke from the tail pipe while accelerating. Only once I removed my foot from the acceleration pedal it did not give any smoke.
Also when I keep on pressing the acceleration pedal for long, it only gives the smoke for two to three second at the beginning and then disappear still with high acceleration.

My car is using engine oil (Half of total with in 1200 kms), but when the engine oil goes on the middle of high and low level of dipstick it does not use engine oil anymore and has no smoke with high acceleration.

I consulted with many local mechanics and all suggested to get complete overhauling of the engine which is not worth it for me as the car is already too old.

Can anybody suggest me the solution for the same or do I need to get a complete overhaul?

Thanks in advance.

There is no quick or simple solution's for burning oil, you can slow it down a little with different grades of oil, but the only real fix is to repair the engine, which will properly be a full overhaul.

MHPAUTOS,

You means it is worn out piston rings right, if it is so then why my car does not smoke after half of engine oil (Oil level in middle of high and low point on dipstick) nor use further oil as well?
Looking forward to hear from you soon.

To prove rings are worn, you can do a wet and dry compression test, do a dry comp test and record the readings, then add a small quantity of engine oil to the cylinder just a few squirts from an oil can, do another compression test and compare the readings, if the wet readings are higher by around 10%-20% or better the rings will be worn.

Could you please share with me the standard required pressure rating in each cylinder for dry and wet test.

Hi,

Because of the low mileage I have another suggestion for you, some engine are prone to slug build up in the upper part of the engine (cylinder head) when this happens the oil cannot drain back down and it fills the head with oil causing it to be forced down through the valve guides. the valve cover needs to be removed and checked for this, here is a guide to help

and

Let me know what you find

Dear All,

Finally I got rebuilt my car engine and when I was taking back my car, the mechanic instructed to keep the engine RPM below 2500 for up till 1000 kms but once by mistake I pressed the acceleration pedal for a second and RPM reached to 3500 so can anybody share his thought on that will there be any serious issue due this or not. Otherwise I am running my car with in 2500 RPM range..

Taking the engine over 3500 rpm will in not way hurt the engine. It is not a serious issue.
