My 4x4 worked when i got the truck a month ago, but here recently just got a "Service 4x4" code show up. I replaced the actuator and then noticed that the 4x4 fuse in the vehicle was blown. As soon as I replaced it, it just kept blowing once I turned the ignition on. Any clues or ideas?

Good evening,

I attached the wiring diagram for you to view.

Can you tell me which fuse fails so I can trace that wiring for you?

Okay, I attached what the fuse controls.

If you disconnected the switch and actuator and the fuse still fails, the wiring is shorted between the fuse block and the 3 components.

I unplugged the 4x4 selector and unplugeed the plug under the hood for the actuator and it still blew the fuse.

Okay, as I stated if the fuse still fails it is a wiring issue. The wiring is shorted somewhere after the fuse.

Are you thinking between the interior fuse panel and the plug of the actuator under the hood?

Yes, I am. It could be there or to the switch.

Tracing the harness is the next step.
