The blower motor is making a noise and I want to replace it. I can’t seem to find any videos on how to do it. I know I need to remove the glovebox. Any info is greatly appreciated thank you.

Hi,

I don't have a video specific to this vehicle, but I do have step-by-step instructions. It really isn't a difficult job. Once the glove box is out, there are three screws that hold the motor in place and an electrical connector that needs to be removed.

I attached the directions below for you. I started with the removal of the glove box.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Hi Joe.

Thanks for this. I had a similar problem to the OP and I was able to remove the glovebox and the blower motor.

A poor little mouse had gotten in there and had been spun to death. Fortunately I didn't have to clean him out and the cold weather kept him from being too gross.

Unfortunately, the fan cage was damaged so I have to replace the cage and motor. The motor/fan combo costs $20 more than the fan cage alone and I can get motor/fan combo right away vs week or more for just the cage.

The only thing I would add for anyone is that the blower motor is smaller than you think, so don't try to take the BIG blower looking thing out. The motor is maybe 5 inches square and attached to the bottom of the BIG thing. It then slides downward.

Tools I needed for this repair:
Phillips head screwdriver - medium bit.
Pliers or vise grip to grab and detach wiring harness
Snips to cut the wire tie on the wiring harness
Something to cover the sharp bits on the floor when you remove the necessary trim to get to the glovebox removal. An old blanket will work.
