Blend door actuator

Heat is only blowing on the driver's side and cool air on the passenger side. Hoses going into and out of the heater core are both hot. The blower and thermostat are good.

If the problem is the blend door actuator, which one controls the temperature flow. (It looks like there are two behind the glove box)

Since this car only has one blend door actuator, it is unlikely the cause of differences from left to right. The actuator is on the left side of the box, not behind the glove box (picture below).

You may have a broken door internally in the HVAC housing.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that when I turn the vent control knob to defrost and the temperature knob is on cool, it activates the A/C even though the A/C is not turned on. Does this change the diagnosis?

No, that would be intentional. The manufacturer does that to remove moisture from the air.
