The lane keep system will be disabled, and there will be various trouble codes spread throughout other modules, but should not affect the overall basic functions of the vehicle.

Will it effect anything else and will it trigger a light on the dashboard?

It should not affect lighting because that system has it's own optical sensor. You will have a warning light or lights depending on what systems your vehicle is equipped with. You will not have forward emergency braking (FEB) operation and lane control.

Is it a plug and play or does it have to go to dealer to be programmed if I decide to get a replacement?

Hi,
If you are replacing the lane/camera unit, it should be plug and play.
