i had to replace the rear differential bolt on top because somehow it came out and both of my CV axles broke! i know how this happened because you have to drop the cradle to get that bolt out or cut it. i can't tell you cause i haven't the slightest, that's my luck. Anyway, the bolt i used is about 2 inches too long. so, i put a big washer over the hole closest to the body ( i drilled a hole through the spare tire well) then on the other side of the frame between going into the differential i put a smaller washer that's the same size as the bushing (that isn't out all the way) then it screws into the differential housing. Even though the threads weren't striped out it tightened down great. How safe is this and how will it affect, or will it work? i have no pictures. didn't want to say or tell anyone until it has worked for a while if it does.

I am not sure if this will be okay, I would need to see images of the problem. Is there a chance you can upload any? Here are images so we can be on the same page about the problem. Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.

Thanks for the video. That is a strange noise, it does not seem to follow the drivetrain at all. While it is in the air can you use a rubber mallet to tap the exhaust system to see if you can duplicate the noise, please?

How about this! Do you think i could replace the axle thrust washers with needle bearing washer 3 piece set on the rear? would it take more space up and possibly put too much stress on the axles? The ones on here are real thin washers with 4 pins pointing to the middle like to keep it in place or up off the axle!

oh, hey it's not the exhaust it only does it at 15/20 mph and not all the time! Could a crooked differential cause this stress on itself?
