Good evening,

I attached the procedure and pictures for you for the replacement.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Roy

The supercharged 3800 engine utilizes two drive belts. The outer drive belt drives the supercharger. The inner drive belt drives the following components:
Generator
Power steering pump
Water pump
Air conditioning compressor

All driven accessories rigidly mount to the engine. Spring-loaded belt tensioners maintain the drive belt tension. Each drive belt has its own tensioner. A drive belt squeak, occurring when the engine starts or stops, is normal and has no effect on the durability of the drive belt. The drive belt tensioner can control the drive belt tension over a broad range of drive belt lengths, due to stretching. However, there are limits to the tensioner's compensation ability. Poor tension control and/or damage to the tensioner may occur after using the tensioner outside of its operating range. Replace the drive belt when this occurs.

1. Lift or rotate the supercharger drive belt tensioner using a 15 mm box end wrench on the pulley nut.
2. Remove the supercharger drive belt.

In the diagrams down below I have included the instructions from the vehicle manufacturer for the removal and installation of both drive belts from your vehicle. Please go through this guide and get back to us with how everything turns out for you. I hope this guide helps.

Hi there! I have a follow up question to this thread. When changing these belts is it necessary / recommended to also. Change the coupler? If so, are there any special steps that need to be taken? Thanks!

Not unless there is any noise coming from the pulleys.

The engine for the car. It is a 3.8 option. It is the 8th digit in the VIN or vehicle identification number that identifies your engine size.

I attached a chart for you of the VIN breakdown.
