Beeping noise

My battery was flat this morning so when my husband got home tonight he jump started it. I took it for a drive and now seems okay.
However, when the car is off light out door closed all the obvious things , a beeping sound is coming from what seems like under the dashboard and it does not stop beeping at all.
What can this be?
