I plug my OBD2 code reader in and the computer will not communicate with reader. Is the BCM bad?

Hello, I am Danny.
I would first inspect the connections on the BCM and PCM for poor connection/dirt/corrosion first. I noticed that a few times with no OBD2 communication. The BCM is on the right below dash and the PCM is on the left below dash. I have attached pictures of what they look like.
