I recently bought the car listed above. It works fine. In a month I'm taking a 650 mile trip from New Orleans to Ft. Lauderdale,Florida and storing it for 2 1/2 months. After driving the car almost nonstop and parking it, if I disconnect the battery, when I return 2 1/2 months later, will I need to have it jump-started?

Hi,

If the battery is disconnected, it should be okay. That is taking into consideration that the battery is in good condition. They to make an automatic trickle charger. Basically, it slowly recharges the battery when it notices it is below a certain point. They are inexpensive. It's just a thought.

Take care and let me know if you have other questions. Also, have a safe trip.

So I can go into an AutoZone store and ask for an automatic trickle charger?

I would like to say they will have one. Just call and ask to save a trip. I attached a pic of one I found online. This is basically what you are looking for.

Once you get one, let me know if you have questions or need help.

Take care,
Joe

I called them and was quoted a price of $169.00! That is not trivial. I'd be better off jumping the battery (and a heck of a lot cheaper)!

OMG!!! That's crazy. The one I sent a picture of is from Harbor Freight. I don't like saying store names, but this time it's in your best interest. The picture shows one I use through the winter on a vehicle in storage and have had no trouble. If there is a Harbor Freight near you, call them.

Let me know.
