Battery light

I highly doubt the battery lasted twelve years or so. Is the car charging?

Saturntech9, batteries usually do not last that long five to seven years .I believe is the norm. Had friend with a 2002 Honda Civic,this summer just replaced the original Honda installed battery, fourteen years!

I replaced the battery and the battery light stays on. i was told maybe it is the alternator.
What do you think?

Bring car to auto parts store they will test it for free.

I will take it in tomorrow.

Also, if you have a multi meter to do some testing we can test it.

There are many factors that come into play on how long car batteries last. Where there mounted in the trunk trunk or inside the car or down in lower fender they tend to last longer. Less of a harsh environment. Also, less acid lost from heat that way. But outside temperature comes into play also high desert temperatures shorten battery life as well. Also, type of driving done as well.

Hi it was the alternator.
It wasnt charging.
I had it replaced.
