Battery hybrid, which is better Nickle or Lithium?

I am goin to buy the car listed above from dealer in middle east (Jordan).
They told the battery is Nickle , at the same time i found car that came from tUSA and its battery is lithium.my question is, which is better? Nickle or lithium?
The dealer said Nickle is better for our weather and climate , and the USA seller said lithium is superior!
At the same time i read article about Toyota car in Australia that said that Toyota will shift all new models to lithium battery.
So what is your opinion as expert?
Which one to choose ? Is the weather play role in choice? Or the dealer want only to sell own car?

Based on the year of the vehicle the lithium battery technology is better and seems to be the direction that the industry is going. The large difference is two things. First, the cost. Nickel is cheaper for now but with lithium being the way the industry is headed, we suspect the lithium price will come down to where nickel is or lower.

The other major difference is durability. Lithium currently is better then nickel with the exception of extremely hot climates. In the hottest of hot regions, nickel is currently better but lithium eventually will catch up.
