So I have a couple different issues with car. but today the car decided that it wouldn't start again. The question I have is a basic question. if a battery is no longer good and you try to restart car by hooking it up by jumper cables or a jumper box and it still won't turn over could that possibly be the battery or would it indicate that it probably is a starter problem? I hope someone has an answer thank you for your time.

If a jump box or good battery is on it but the starter does nothing when you turn the key it could be the starter itself the starter relay or the wiring to it. Do you hear the starter engage and then it won't turn or do you hear nothing? If you turn the lights on when you try to start it do they dim? Another possibility is something mechanically wrong with the engine preventing it from moving. That might be the case if you hear the starter engage but the engine doesn't move. For that you would want to be sure the engine can tun by hand. As it sounds like the no start is a continuing issue, I would start by checking the battery cables to be sure they are clean and no corrosion is present. Then have the battery load tested to see if it is okay, a shorted battery could cause this issue but usually a good battery or heavy jump box will still turn it over.
