Hi,

Are you referring to the light which indicates the anti theft system is armed? If so, it can't be turned off. What all have you checked so far? Take a look through this link. It explains a lot of different things that can cause this type of issue.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/car-battery-dead-overnight

Let me know if anything there helps. Also, let me know how you are determining the draw.

Good evening,

I thought I would throw mt 2 cents in for you.

The red light on the dash by the windshield is normal for flashing and cannot be turned off.

Normal draw is 50 to 75 milli amps. That is .050 to .075 amps.

How you check it is to remove the negative cable and put a voltmeter in line with the cable end and the battery. Set the meter to DC amps. Then let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes.

If the draw is higher than spec, remove the fuses one by one until the draw drops to spec. Then you need to find out what components are on that fuse and disconnect them one at a time until you find the component that is causing the draw.

Is that amps or milliamps? It it is milliamps, that is acceptable. If it is amps, then it's too high. It should be around .05 amps.

That is 1/2 amp. Way too high.

When the reading is correct it will read .050.

That is still too high. It needs to drop to 50-75 milli amps.

Remove each fuse one at a time until it drops to that. Then let me know the fuse number and I will get the power distribution for that fuse.

Make sure the doors are closed and the hood is closed enough to turn off the lamp if you have one.

No, again, it should be .050. You have 1/2 amp reading.

Can you take a picture of how you have you meter hooked up?

Good. Now leave them attached and remove each fuse one at a time and see if the draw drops.

You have 3 relay panels but no other fuse boxes.

Did you disconnect the big wire on the back of the alternator?

Remove the wire from the back of the alternator. It should be held by a nut.

Then check the draw.

The black/red wire is the one to disconnect.

Do you have the hood or a door open during this testing?

If you door is open, it will cause a draw. Make sure it is closed.

No, that turns off the test.

You need to disconnect the alternator.

Terry,

I wrote this and then after submitting it, realized I had the sequence mixed up. There are three things I need you to try. I indicated order at the start of each check. Sorry about that.

Roy, I thought you had it with the alternator / diode thought. However, I want to try something with this. Since the suspension light is on, there is an air suspension module under the dash that may be drawing power. Also, the idea that a relay is being heard needs to be looked considered.

Do this 3rd --- I attached a pic of the module. With the battery disconnected, unplug the suspension module and then do the test. The air suspension control module is mounted to the lower left side of the dash above the parking brake. Make sure the battery is disconnected before disconnecting or reconnecting the module.

Do this 1st --- There should be an air ride on off switch in the rear left of the vehicle. Chances are it is hidden behind the trim. It is a toggle switch. See if that changes things.

Do this 2nd --- If you haven't already, remove the fuses in the fuse box at the right side kick panel. That is the place you would rest your right foot if you were the passenger. See pic 2 for fuses I'm referring to. I have a feeling we found the issue, and it's related to the air ride. Note that the relay for the air ride is under the hood.

Let us know.
