Battery will not hold a charge

Hi,

It sounds like the battery is bad or the alternator isn't keeping it charged. Do me a favor. Disconnect the battery and charge it to see if it then will hold a charge. If you don't have a charger, most parts stores will do it for you free of charge.

No problem. Actually, if you do have a charger at home, remove the battery and charge it. Before reinstalling it into the vehicle, have it load tested at a parts store. Most will do it for you free of charge. I just want to make sure there isn't something draining the battery as soon as it's reconnected.

One last thought. Because I don't know where you are located, often I don't mention this. However, if you are near something like an AutoZone, they will actually charge and test it for you right at the store. That makes it easier if you don't own the charger.
