Battery was installed backwards now there is no power to the truck

Battery was too low and was removed to check for corrosion. The positive cable was removed first which I later found out was a mistake. Then to make it worse the battery was placed in backwards and the cables touched opposing terminals. - to + and + to -
There is no power to the vehicle now.. Is this a blown fuse thing or worse?

Hello, I'm Danny.

By touching the battery cables in reverse order like this it sounds like you may have tripped the fusible link. This is a safety feature that keeps the electrical systems protected when something like this happens. The fusible links are available at auto parts stores as well as Chevrolet dealerships. I've attached the wiring diagram below for your truck showing the fusible link locations and circled in green. Here is a wire testing tutorial for you to view as well:
