Bad squeak when started and accelerating

It sounds like a bearing in the alternator or if equipped -idler pulley is going out. What I would suggest is with the engine running, Use a can of WD40 with the red small straw and individually spray behind the pulleys until you here the noise quiet for a few seconds to locate what components bearing is failing. After you do this get back to us after locating and we will provide you with the necessary repair guides. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

If spraying each pulley did not help, then the next best way to figure this out is to remove the belt and run the engine simply to confirm the noise is gone. Basically, I am pretty confident that this is a pulley but there is a chance it is the belt or something else so if the noise is gone with the belt off then we have narrowed it to a pulley and we just need to find it.

At that point we need to inspect each of the pulleys starting with the alternator and the tensioner. We need to look for the insulation part of the center of the pulley to be worn.
