Hi, I have a b1266 instrument panel short bus B+ code, instrument panel not working fuel gauge don’t work accurately I have full gas it shows it’s empty with yellow light on, temperature light is wrong always cold, A/C does not work, Tilsit up/tilt down does not work. help me please. airbag light on ABS light on. the car drives smooth just a short circuit somewhere and I can’t find it. how do I find the location for the short? before this happened all lights did not work in the trunk and all brake lights did not work, I changed the rear module because it looked like there is water in the trunk and the module was burned, I replaced the module and all lights worked fine, but the b1266 error code is still there in the scanner I have checked the fuses and relays, everything is working, I changed the tilt up/down module for steering same problem nothing happens.

Hi,

This code is set when there is a short to battery power on the instrument panel can-bus.

I have attached directions for diagnosing the code and locating the short. Take a look through them and let me know if you are comfortable doing them.

Do you think the navigation module and another module on the right side of rear trunk of the car, if they are wet and burnt can they cause this kind of issue, so if I replace them you think it works? Let me know. thanks

Hi,

The modules certainly shouldn't be wet. That will damage them if water gets into them. As far as the problem, there is a breakdown in the can-bus. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, a few wires tie all the modules/computers together. There is a breakdown in communication at the instrument panel. There is a short to battery voltage. Could the module be a problem, certainly. However, I would recommend going through the test procedures above to confirm the problem. The modules won't be cheap.
