Automatic shifting and shaking?

This vehicle has a CVT transmission. It is different from a traditional transmission. It functions similarly to the pulleys on a snowmobile. Most CVT systems work through a pulley system, so it doesn't shift gears. Instead, the pulleys increase or decrease the belt diameter to change gear ratios. If you are having the engine rev without acceleration, there could be an internal issue.

The first thing I would like you to do is have the transmission fluid condition and level checked. To do this, it requires a dipstick that was provided by the manufacturer to dealerships, or if you can find one online aftermarket. The dipstick tube for the transmission on your vehicle will have a plastic cap covering it. Is this something you could have done or was it done when serviced?

Also, I need to know if the check engine light is staying on while the engine is running.

One last thought. I realize the 5-year or 100-K-mile powertrain warranty has expired. However, at 50K miles, I personally would be contacting Chrysler for some type of assistance if it becomes a major repair. Most CVT transmissions are replaced rather than repaired. It's just a thought.

My paperwork from the dealer says that I have the 6-speed Automatic Transmission w/ the Auto-stick, not the CVT. And my Manual states that I shouldn't need any Transmission servicing until maybe 120,000 miles.

The only light that was on was the Tire Pressure light which shut off after I had the servicing this last week. I did a full inspection at a Firestone and then at the end when I asked how the Transmission looked they informed me that they no longer deal with transmissions.

I purchased this Jeep a year and a half ago at 41000 miles. Is it possible that the Dealer gave me an inaccurate set of Vehicle Specs? The vehicle specs say "Transmission: 6-speed Automatic" and "Autostick Automatic Transmissions Tip Start".

Are you meaning to say that Chrysler might assist me with the repair financially or are you saying that they are your recommendation for servicing?

I drove to work and back again today, and it was perfectly normal.
Do you have different information for the 6-speed Automatic Transmission? I've found that the Transmission is inaccessible under the hood. There's no reservoir. I think it's accessed from underneath the vehicle.

You are correct. The standard equipment transmission is a CVT. This vehicle was upgraded.

As far as the shift issue, my first suspect is the transmission control module (TCM) needs to be flashed/reprogrammed with the most up-to-date information. I was able to find a technical service bulletin specific to a delayed shift.

I attached the TSB below. Mention this to the shop and let me know what they say.
